Structural reports and repair engineering for insurance claims
For insurance repair builders, loss adjusters and insurers who need a clear engineering answer and a repair scope that can be built.
What we do
We inspect damaged homes and report on what caused the damage, what condition the structure is in and what needs to be repaired. Then we design and certify the structural repair. Reports are written so that a claims officer, a builder and a homeowner can all follow the conclusion.
Our insurance work is residential and repair-focused: storm, water and ground-movement damage, structural defects and roof replacements. We are not a forensic engineering practice and we don’t act in litigation.
Who we work with
- Insurance repair builders and building consultants
- Loss adjusters and assessors
- Insurers and claims managers

What a Walker Engineering report gives you
The answer first
The finding and the recommended action are on the first page. Observations, photos and reasoning follow.
Structural or cosmetic
We separate damage that affects the structure from damage that doesn’t, so each item goes to the right trade.
Stated with the right certainty
Where the evidence supports a conclusion only on the balance of probabilities, the report says so plainly.
A repair that can be built
Where the repair is structural, we provide the design, drawings and Form 15, then inspect and certify the completed work.
How a job runs
From brief to certified repair
Brief
Send the claim number, site address, access contact, event date and description, photos and any earlier reports.
Inspection
We inspect, measure and photograph the structure, including the roof space and subfloor where safe access allows.
Report
Cause, condition and defects, with a recommended repair scope, issued by the date agreed at briefing.
Repair design and sign-off
Repair drawings and Form 15 where required, inspections during the work and certification at completion.
Common questions
Frequently asked
Do you provide forensic engineering?
No. We report on cause, condition and structural defects to support claim decisions and repairs, and we design and certify the repair. We don’t prepare reports for litigation or act as expert witnesses. If a claim looks like it is heading there, we’ll tell you early so you can brief the right expert.
Can you design the repair as well as report on it?
Yes. Most of our insurance work continues into repair design, Form 15 certification and inspection of the completed work, so the builder isn’t re-briefing a second engineer.
How quickly can you inspect and report?
Tell us the claim’s deadline when you send the brief. We’ll confirm an inspection date and a report date when we accept the job.
Which areas do you cover?
Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and Northern NSW. Ask us about sites further out.
Send us the brief
Claim number, site address and photos are enough to get started. We’ll confirm dates and fees.
