House relocations
New house relocations
For builders and relocators of new transportable homes, and the buyers they deliver to.
A new home delivered to the block
A home built off site and trucked in spends weeks, not months, as a construction site. Because the structure is new and its condition is known, the engineering is about the trip and the landing: how it is lifted and carried, and what it sits on at the other end.
What we do
- Check the frame for lifting and road transport, and specify lifting points and temporary bracing
- Design footings and subfloor for the block’s soil classification
- Design tie-down and bracing for the site’s wind classification
- Detail the connections where the home arrives in two or more sections
- Provide drawings, calculations and Form 15, and inspect at set-down
What you receive
Footing and subfloor design for the block, tie-down and bracing details, connection details where sections join, drawings and calculations for approval, and inspection at set-down.
Common questions
Frequently asked
How is this different from moving an older house?
With an established home, the unknown is the existing structure. With a new one, the structure is known; the unknowns are the journey and the ground it lands on.
What happens when the home arrives in sections?
We detail the connections that join the sections, so the finished home acts as one structure under wind and gravity loads.
Can the footings go in before the home arrives?
Yes. We design the footings with the set-out tolerances the home needs, so site work can run while the home is being built.
